How to Stop Being Self-Centered

Area: Self Improvement
Have you ever wondered if you are being self-centered for days together? Here is how to identify. This article gives you tips on this.

1)   You think of yourself only all day, forgetting friends and family
Did you find yourself ever in the above circumstance when all day you think of yourself only, your prosperity, your finances, your career, your dreams and aspirations. While it’s good to work on self-improvement for some part of the day, it’s also good to meet family and friends, hold conversations and have fun.

2)   You talk about yourself only when meeting others, without listening to their stories
Do you only talk about yourself when you meet others, without giving them a good ear? Then you are really being self-centered. You need to listen to others’ stories for the joys involved and for the fun and experience. Share your own stories as well but do listen to others.

3)   You are spending too much time with yourself
You hardly interact with others but are being totally by yourself. You are spending all your time on yourself. It’s good to dream and have goals but you also need to come in contact with mother nature and have interventions with friends and family.

4)   You are gazing at yourself only all day
You haven’t been outdoors but gazing at your pics and yourself in the mirror, too intent on looking and feeling good about yourself. But doing that only all day, you are being self-centered. When you look at pics look at others also but not only you. When you go out, do not wonder only if you are looking good, gaze at others and make eye contacts and smile at those you know.

Summing up, those are some of the pointers to identify if you are being self-centered and how to come to solutions to recover from those situations.

All the best,
Rosie

How to Communicate Without Getting Angry

Area:  Self Improvement -> Anger Management
Ever pondered how some people get through life easily and successfully maintaining work as well as family relationships? How come you are not as lucky as them? Ever realized it could be your temper, giving off hot fumes of anger at everyone you could find? You need to control this anger. This  article shows several scenarios where you could even off your temper and deal with people more rationally and coolly.
Here they go:
1)      You are doing a good job at a company until you are laid off one day. You get furious with your boss. Take a little time to distract yourself by whistling a favorite tune. Then confront your boss. He is not going to change his mind but at least his constructive criticism would help.

2)      You get into a row with your spouse about dropping children at school in the morning. You don’t want to do it any longer but it becomes too much pressure on your wife. Don’t be serious for too long. Divert it into a joke and merry laughter. You will have to drop your children at school – take the responsibility and don’t think of it as a burden. Think of those families who are not blessed with children at all.

3)      Your colleague has insulted you at work in front of others. Take three breaths before you have your say. Be cool and say whatever you would like to say tactfully and diplomatically. He will never get at you again, knowing what a quality person you are.

4)      Your children have dirtied their clothes walking and jumping in mud water and in rain. You think of washing their dirty clothes and giving them baths as extra burdens. However, please understand that your children enjoyed their time in mother nature. Take the burdens easy and greet your children with a smile. Your temper immediately evaporates. Give them warm clothes and warm food to eat. Cuddle together and have fun.

Summing up, these are some of the scenarios you are likely to be in everyday life. They show how you can direct yourself away from the deadly fate of losing your temper.

How to Embrace Meeting New People Without Being Nervous

Area: Networking

Does meeting new people make you nervous and uncomfortable? Fear not – I give you a few tips here in this article to overcome that. Please read on.
Here they are:
1)   Make small group discussions first including both new and old people. Once you get habituated to that, try bigger groups. Make announcements; volunteer to give speeches.
2)   Once you are done with the above, drive to new places, book a hotel and attend conferences. See how people present their papers. Make friends with them and keep in touch. Then start writing your own publications in conferences. If they accept your paper, go attend their conference and deliver your presentation which you have already rehearsed a couple of times. Life will feel good to be heard by so many people about your research. There will be questions from the audience and you answer them all enthusiastically.
3)   Assuming your niche concerns research, write more and more publications, attend conferences and deliver your speeches, make friends and have a lovely time.
4)   You will overcome your shyness professionally. Likewise socially you can overcome your problem of meeting new people by going to most of the parties you are invited. Make friends wherever you go, keep their numbers, meet in get-togethers and yes, you will overcome your problem
5)   Socially or professionally, the trick is the same that is, doing more of the stuff that make you fearful or shy. Once you get habituated to that, yes you will have made it with flying colors.
Summing up, in this article, I speak of both in professional and social terms, how you can say goodbye to your problem of meeting new people, speaking to them, being friendly, keeping in touch and soaring high.

All the best,

Benefits of an Interesting Conversation

Area:  Networking-> Books

How do you generally converse with others? Is it interesting or boring? This article gives you a few tips on how to converse in an interesting way and the benefits you get. Read on to find out.

Here are the tips:

1)   While you turn on an eager ear, grab everything the other person has to say. Details such as homes she lived, the roles of people in her life, how many children she has, what they are doing and what brought her to the current status will help.
When you collect information about the people you meet (that info they are willing to give you), make a note of them. Guess what you may write a fiction story based on their lives under new names. So monetize the exciting conversations you have with people wherever you go.

2)   So long the other person can speak and write in English, listen to their interesting stories and ask them to coauthor with you (those who look promising). That way you can share your ideas and themes and place them nicely in the form of a book and sell it on Amazon.

3)   The more you write about interesting people after conversing with them, the more you will know what the audience likes to read and leverage the themes of your books to satisfy them.  It is a simple trick and it always works.

4)   How do you know how much the interesting people in your life are willing to reveal about them? Just ask quick questions until they are able to say no longer. Give them space and make them feel comfortable but never say that you are willing to put them in your fiction stories. Because otherwise they may feel discomfort and unable to talk about themselves any longer, feeling numb and insecure.

5)   Make others feel good by directing your conversations in exciting and invigorating ways making the other person willing to converse more and more. Once the conversation ends uninterrupted, both of you have something to gain. The person conversing will feel full of joy and happiness because somebody was interested in his/her life story which s/he was willing to impart while the person with the listening ear will have extracted a new story with bends and twists, which is likely to be liked by the big audience out there once you have it in print.

Summing up, these are a few tips on how you can produce stories from people’s lives by allowing a listening ear and making the other person fulfilled. The more interesting conversations you hold with people, the more people you get with their exhilarating journeys until today and the more you have the capacity to put in print and monetize.
